Following up on the IR-200, BOSS present the IR-2 Amp & Cabinet: an equally potent amp-simulator-and-impulse-response-loader stuffed carefully into a classic-and-compact pedal housing. Made for guitarists who basically want to tweak less and play more, this smart bit of kit is amazingly intuitive to control and easy to set up.
The IR-2: Authentic Amp Sound
Doing away with the need to lug a hefty amp head, speaker cabinet and instrument microphone around, this BOSS stompbox can be plugged directly into a live PA system, rehearsal space speaker system or studio audio interface. The built-in amp section gives you the pick of eleven different amps, ranging from natural cleans to extreme high-gain sounds to cover virtually every style and, to guarantee ultra-convincing tone, BOSS have turned to none other than Celestion Digital so each amp is voiced by the most authentic impulse response possible.
Load Custom IRs, Switch Between Amps and Up the Ambiance with Ease
On top of all of the above, the BOSS IR-2 Amp & Cabinet supports the IR-2 IR Loader app for macOS and Windows which means you're free to upload your own mono IRs via the fitted USB-C port. Meanwhile, switching between two different amps is as simple as tapping the footswitch, and to bypass the pedal altogether, you just press and hold the footswitch. The IR-2 even features an internal FX loop complete with a stereo return input, and has been packed with not one but three reverbs that can be accessed via the Ambiance pot. Staying in to practice? Plug in your headphones and noodle it up in private.

Stop met zoeken. Dit apparaat kan alles en klinkt top. In een compact formaat. Werkt in het bijzonder erg goed in de fx-return. Combineer dit met je eigen pedalen en je kunt dus op elke versterker inpluggen zonder veel zooi mee te hoeven slepen. Kwaliteit is top. Wel even de IR uitzetten als je het in een versterker gebruikt. Tof om te oefenen met koptelefoon. De reverb is verbazend goed. Topproduct dus!

Ik kan niet in woorden uitdrukken hoe blij ik ben met dit ding. Ik heb het gekocht omdat ik thuis opnames wilde maken zonder de buren lastig te vallen. Ik sluit het op de huisstereo om te checken hoe het geluid klinkt en zodra ik mijn geluid goed heb ingesteld, ga ik over op de koptelefoon. En dan... opnemen maar. Klinkt prima!
Ik heb het niet gekocht om het live te gebruiken, maar ik besef dat als ik dat zou willen dan zou dat prima kunnen. Zeker als ik een attenuator links ervan aansluit (want de distortion geluiden klinken het beste op een hardere volume dan de clean).
